What's been happening this week and the progress of last week's tasks.

1. Document the repository/branch/build strategy on the Wiki - renderguy
2. Move the bake2tif functionality into RiMakeTexture - joron
3. Remove the plugins - cgtobi
4. Expand on the documentation tasks in the discussion tab of the main documentation wiki page - renderguy
5. Add the region-based allocator prototype to SVN - c42f
6. Get tiled TIFF input working (aqsistex) - c42f

Further discussion regarding the registering of Aqsis as a non-profit organisation.

A new topic in the optimisation saga. A post on c.g.r.r raised a question about the way we deal with filter expansion in our bucket processing. The way we work results in a lot of duplicated sampling, which gets worse with increases in filter width. Discussions on the forum here & here show some ideas and detail about the issue.

Chris recently got bitten rather badly by a misbehaving RiTorus when called with invalid parameters (thetamax = 0). It would be nice to have proper validation of the input parameter ranges for Ri*.

If we're doing to do this, we need to decide on

• The behaviour when a bad parameter is passed (ignore/use default params/ ??)
• How we might fit it into the code generation scheme (api.xml)
