Services

One of the major goals for the new site is to work smarter, rather than harder, and this is where leveraging existing services (when needed/possible) offers many advantages/benefits.

These services include:

  • Flickr - Image management (gallery).
  • Google - Analysis, feed, mapping and other tools.
  • OSUOSL - File hosting (secondary download).
  • SourceForge - Project and file hosting (primary download).
  • Spreadshirt - Online store.

Roadmap

This project is currently in the early development stage, but is expected to move fairly rapidly given its new priority.

Milestone 1 Milestone 2 Milestone 3/Release

Milestone 1 (foundation)

  • Set-up and configure required subdomains. Done (20080115)
  • Organise file hosting options with OSUOSL. Done (200801??)
  • Install and configure base CMS system to function as new site.

Milestone 2 (migration)

  • Migrate relevant data from existing CMS to new CMS.
  • Bug-fixing.

Milestone 3 (presence)

  • Provide clean, consistant, look (theme) to new sites.
  • Disable existing (old) CMS, favouring the new.

Release

  • Promotion of site(s) and services, ideally timed for Aqsis 1.4 release.
Both testing and discussion/feedback should occur during the development of the new site (no specific milestones).
